I build cool stuff.
(One bug at a time.)
I spend my days researching, writing flows, gardening, creating requirements, herding cats, polishing mockups, hiking, writing code, running dev ops, launching features, and a whole lot more. You'll find me doing whatever it takes to build awesome stuff, in and out of work, and I'll have fun while I'm at it.

People describe me as authentic, dedicated, a little bit weird, articulate, and a pleasure to have in class. One time, a coworker even called me funny.

How it all started

I began my career as my hometown's local “guy that knows code” and made a name for myself building websites. I quickly worked my way into the Indianapolis tech scene, spending the first half of my career as jack of all trades: learning product management as I went, usually completing product designs and writing code along with it. I went from managing a small squad of engineers to working on key account implementations, hiring my own team, and multiplying orgs through product-led growth. As I grew, I started to feel some of the gaps in my fundamental skills, so I filled them by getting my degree in user experience design and by venturing far outside of the Indy tech scene I'd come to love. Today, I build and lead high velocity product squads in early- and growth-stage startups, managing projects from 0 to 1 to 100.

From my Library

I'm a deeply curious person and take inspiration from just about anything. I started my product education in the real world, where my mistakes were my biggest mentor. I keep the energy I came from with me today: I love to fail early, fail fast, measure everything, then start again. I learn the most when I experiment and try something new.

Today, I keep a healthy library of product, business, and user experience design books to guide my strategy. Some of my favorites are Mellisa Perri's The Build Trap, Jim Collins and Jerry Porras' Built to Last, and Marty Cagean's Inspired.

"Alicia is awesome. She's got minimum 15 plates spinning at any moment and never lets any of them drop. She's super responsive and makes informed, intelligent calls about what needs to be done and what our team's priorities are. She's funny and personable too, which makes working with her a hoot. Everyone seems to really respect her and vise versa, which is critical for a PM (really anybody, but especially important for the shot-caller)."

"Alicia is organized, decisive, and is typically the first to reassure or praise members of her team during releases, demos, etc. … She's been understanding when miscommunications happen (while also proactively fixing them) and has taken the time to reach out directly when she can tell I'm frustrated. She's incredibly responsive, and is ready with answers or feedback, even on crazier days."

"Alicia's incredibly talented in multiple areas but I would like to highlight her facilitation abilities. She's incredibly talented as a mediator and in figuring out what our team can accomplish in a certain timeframe. She's able to convincingly communicate these thoughts and ensures that our team is always on the same page."

"Alicia has been our rock when it comes to pulling everyone together from different departments, and being able to come to a resolution when there are any sort of conflicts when it comes to decision-making."
